Welfare and Behavior Modification Workshop
This is a package option for shelters enrolling participants in CORE and CARS. All participants must also be enrolled in or have previously completed the on-line modules.
Learn to measure welfare and design interventions to improve welfare!
Participants will learn how to assess welfare using an objective measurement tool. Based on the welfare assessment, specific animals and interventions will be collaboratively designed and implemented by participants in small groups with guidance from our team.

Workshop Schedule
All shelter staff and volunteers who are enrolled in, or have previously completed our on-line program, are welcome to join this workshop. Join us for three days of learning that you will give you the confidence and skills to improve the lives of the animals in your care.
Day 1
You will learn how to operationalize and assess welfare for the animals in your care.
Day 2
Participants will select animals to target for welfare-related interventions based on welfare measures. Participants will then design and test those interventions then measure the results.
Day 3
Design and implement behavior modification to improve welfare and measure the results. Based on results, participants will adjust the design with an eye toward improvement of welfare.
